T.E. Lawrence a.k.a. Lawrence of Arabia: the British officer known for his liaison role during the Sinai and Palestine Campaign and the Arab Revolt! 

Lawrence of Arabia (August 16,1888-May 19,1935) led the Arab Revolt in an attempt to end the Ottoman rule of the area. At the Battle of Tafileh, it began as a defensive engagement, but turned into an offensive rout, which led to Lawrence of Arabia. T.E. retired as a Colonel from the British Army. Lawrence of Arabia died from injuries from a motorcycle crash at the age of 46.
